Here we show everyone what we do, past or present, from the basic to the bizarre, we hope to give you an understanding of what we have produced and maybe even give you the creative spark needed for your own printed products.
In a slight continuation from the A5+ printed wallet that we showed last week, we often find ourselves approached by various companies who want something different (or in this example, an improvement of a classic); be it colour card, foil blocking, spot UV, or a completely different structure to the folder required which would mean a whole new template and cutting forme needs to be designed before we even get to the artwork design stage. This allows for far more customisation, and although costs can be higher, enables your documents to be presented is a way that is unlike the competition.
The example we have here was for someone who simply wanted their clients’ artwork on an A4+ wallet with a 25mm expanding pocket, something that you could walk into WHSmiths and buy off the shelf (simple, very cheap, not a great quality card, you get what you paid for), but as not many other printers sell a product similar to our standard printed document wallets, it can be even more difficult to get something that is bespoke like this.
Our client, who had a background in the print industry, were binding solutions specialists Unibind, they had one of their customers approach them knowing exactly what they wanted and it was their job to get it done. A few phone calls and Google searches later they found us, and a day later we had everything priced, and a bespoke template ready for the artwork design stage. A rough design was provided with the intention that we made sure everything fit nicely, the PDF proof was approved then we posted out a free proof. Once they were able to show their client how their new wallets should look and everyone was happy with it, they were litho printed onto a 350gsm silk, matt laminated, die cut using the new bespoke tools, and then assembled.
The final result was stunning and with the expanding pocket meant that the wallet was at no risk of being crushed or damaged not matter how few sheets were held inside.
